Thanks, Heather! Yes, it's the Arc'teryx Norvan Shell. I had a previous version that I wore for six years and purchased this new one about six months ago. Really pricey, but it's the only 100% waterproof jacket I've found. It also washes up super well. I'd say I wear it/bring it on 3-4 runs a week in the winter.
Thanks for confirming! I’ve been eyeing it but the price made me hesitate. So many jackets are only water resistant, which isn’t enough for truly stormy days, or just not breathable enough for running! Maybe it’s time to take the plunge… thanks!
Good luck with your training for Gorge. Great race report with insights into your thoughts and how you dealt with the conditions! Congratulations!!! Your approach -- keep pushing to avoid hypothermia -- reminded me of my Boston Marathon 2018, no mud of course, but 37F, soaking rain and headwind. I ran that race on fear of stopping and freezing, just kept pushing forward, and had my best finish, relatively, 18th out of 1400 in my AG, my only top-20 Boston age group finish.
Massive congrats on a tough day! Your smile says it all. I’ll look for you at Gorge. I’m doing the 30k & will cheer the 100k race! You’ll love the trails
Congratulations, and way to persevere through the wild conditions! Great recap. I'm curious about the jacket you chose--is it the Norvan?

I can't imagine running a road marathon in weather like that, and to have your best finish that day, too. Wow!
Congratulations Jade! Super inspiring. The CR will be there for you on the next dry year. 🌨️
