One year before I went to the Sprint World Triathlon Championships, I printed off the picture of the previous year's winner and stuck it on the fridge! Every time I walked by I told myself a little story (like how she wasn't eating chips at 9pm or laying on the couch - she was doubling up on core exercises)! It was all in my head but it helped! I passed her in the latter part of the run and came 5th that year and she came 6th! Use everything you can and let your imagination run wild!
That is why it is said shoot for long term physiological adaptations. But in this era of comparisons where we can see who is running what time in 5K OR 10K, half marathon, full marathon, 50 KM or 50 miles or whatever the distance or race might be- it sometimes feel what time or distance one is running not enough. But the way you have been consistent over the period of years has allowed you to do this year and this goes for everyone in any domain/walk of life. Consistent work in any domain of life not adds rather compounds in the long term. And you have your workouts logged which lets you see what you did years back and now what paces are you running on what efforts. Great work Jade and all the best for everything in future.! <3

wonderful news about Mohi. and Scrams is 12 too! (senior dogs are hard)
I agree, senior dogs can be challenging. I hope Scrams is doing well!
